SET Warwickshire too strong for Derbyshire

 

Warwickshire's second eleven beat Derbyshire by fourteen runs in the Second Eleven Trophy match at Walmley C.C.

Warwickshire won the toss at Walmley in their latest SE Trophy match against Derbyshire and after losing Laurie Evans for just fourteen, added eighty three for the second wicket with Jonathan Webb 59 and Richard Johnson 54 setting up a final total of 230-6 from the forty overs.

In reply, Borrington 56 and Linekar kept Derbyshire ahead of the required rate fior much of the innings, but two wickets apiece from Andy Miller, Tom Allin, Rikki Gordon and Chris Metters peged thenm back and finally dismissing the visitors for 216 with eight balls of the innings remaining.
