Jeetan Patel back for the Bears

New Zealand off spinner, Jeetan Patel arrived back at Edgbaston yesterday afternoon to take up the vacant overseas player slot during the domestic T20 schedule as Mohammed Yousaf returned home to Pakistan following his successful early season stint.

Jeetan was last with the Bears in 2009 when he made an impact with the ball in all formats and became a firm favourite with the Warwickshire faithful.

Commenting on the new signing Ashley Giles said, “It’s great to have Jeetan back with us after his season at Edgbaston in 2009. He is a quality performer and fits perfectly into our squad line up. We all hope that he will be able to make some significant contributions during the vitally important T20 programme”.

Warwickshire’s opening game in the T20 competition starts on Thursday evening at Riverside when the Bears take on the Durham Dynamos. The first home game of the competition is on Sunday 5 June when the Bears take on the Northamptonshire Steelbacks at 2.30pm.
