Warwickshire's Second Eleven drew their friendly match with Somerset
Warwickshire were unable to take the final Somerset wicket in the last six overs at Knowle and Dorridge after the visitors had posted a second innings score of 400 forty eight short of theur target.
Thornley was again top scorer for Somerset with 82 while Keith Barker 4-87, Stef Piolet 3-83 and Tom Burton 2-72 were the Bears' wicket takers before the match closed as a draw.
Somerset were bowled out for 182 in their first innings on the second day, with Keith Barker taking 4-64 leaving Warwickshire with a a twenty run lead on first innings.
Laurie Evans 144 with 21 fours and a six led the way as Warwickshire piled on the runs in their second innings and with Richard Johnson 61 and Stef Piolet 52 giving good support, they raced to 427-6 before a declaration left Somerset requiring 448 for victory.
By the close Somerset had reached twenty four without loss from six overs
Somerset won the toss in this friendly and put Warwickshire into bat at Knowle and Dorridge C.C. and as wickets fell around him, Richard Johnson 63 held the upper order together before some late runs from Piolet 32, Haine 30 and Zaman 23* took the total past 200.
Jamie Overton with three wickets and Calum Haggert two, caused the Bears problems with the ball.
Michael Thornley59 was the most successful Somerset batsman as Ricardo Gordon took three wickets and Keith Barker two, with the visitors seven down at the close with a defecit on first innings of sixty five.
