Warwickshire 2nd XI v Nottinghamshire 2nd XI, SE Championship


Day 3

Ateeq Javid and Tom Milnes batted throughout the morning session on the final day until Javid fell off the final delivery before lunch for 76.

After the break, Milnes completed his century closing on 102 while Peter McKay 51* helped Warwickshire to make 344 in their second innings that closed at tea.

Nottinghamshire were set 112 from 30 overs which they achieved for the loss of just one wicket, Kelsall 51 who was dismissed by Paul Best.

Nottinghamshire took 24 points and Warwickshire 3 points.

Day 2

After declaring on their overnight total, Nottinghamshire soon had Warwickshire in trouble on the second morning, with Tom Lewis and Laurie Evans both dismissed early as the home side slipped to 11-2.

A partnership of 43 between Ateeq Javid and Freddie Coleman looked to be re-establishing the innings but as wickets fell, only Tom Milnes 84 including five fours and four sixes with Javid 47 offered real resistance before the innings closed on 252 from exactly eighty overs.

Invited to follow-on, Tom Lewis went in the opening over without scoring and at stumps in their second innings, Warwickshire were 104-4, trailing still by 129, with both Ateeq Javid and Tom Milnes 29 not out.

Day 1

Nottinghamshire won the toss and elected to bat first at Edgbaston and after totally dominating the day, by the close, had reached 485-1 from 105 overs.

Sam Kelsall 147 was the sole wicket to fall, lbw to Paul Best after having put on 327 runs for the first wicket with Jake Libby who was unbeaten on 225 at stumps, with Will Root 86*.
