Warwickshire 2nd XI v Nottinghamshire 2nd XI, SE Trophy


Nottinghamshire won the toss and batted at Edgbaston in the Second Eleven Trophy. Thanks to an outstanding innings of 159 from James Franklin,  off 119 deliveries with nine fours and 10 sixes, the visitors closed their innings after 50 overs on 328-7, with Sam Wood also making 46.

For Warwickshire Aaron Thomason took 5-62 from his 10 overs.

In reply, Warwickshire were dismissed for 309 in 49.2 overs after Coleman 39 and Lewis 36 had put on 67 for the opening wicket.

Laurie Evans made 28, whilst Ateeq Javid top-scored on 96 from 95 balls with seven fours and three sixes.

Pete McKay 32 and Thomason 26 gave good support before the innings closed leaving the visitors, Nottinghamshire winners by nineteen runs taking the two points to Warwickshire’s none
