Warwickshire award Bell Honorary Life Membership in recognition of 100th Test Cap

Club Chairman Norman Gascoigne presents Ian Bell with his Honorary Life Membership

The rain may have stopped us playing against Lancashire Lightning in the NatWest T20 Blast last Friday evening, but it didn’t stop us making a special presentation to Bears’ batsman Ian Bell in honour of his 100th Test Match cap for England.

Ian became the first Bear to win 100 Test caps at Headingley against Sri Lanka last month and, in recognition, the Club made him the very first member of a current playing squad to be awarded an Honorary Life Membership.

The presentation was made on the balcony of the new South Stand at Edgbaston and was followed by a special photograph and autograph session for Members in the Tom Dollery Lounge and a Q&A with Founding Partners in the Warwickshire Suite.

After making his debut for Warwickshire in the Warwickshire Cricket Board’s Under 11s team and progressing through the development programme to make his First Class debut in 1999, Ian has amassed 16,641 First Class runs with 47 centuries; 20 of which have been made in his 100 Tests played for England.
