Al Faisals named as Official Restaurant Partner of the Bears
Al Faisals in Birmingham’s Balti Triangle has been named as an Official Restaurant Partner of Warwickshire County Cricket Club in a new deal, inspired by the Birmingham Bears campaign in the new look NatWest T20 Blast competition.
The partnership was announced at a special ‘open kitchen’ event at the Kashmiri restaurant with local stakeholders and Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, who is playing seven NatWest T20 Blast matches for the Birmingham Bears, in attendance.
Alfaisal Mohammed, Owner of Al Faisals, said: “Edgbaston is one of the world’s most famous cricket venues and during last year’s ICC Champions Trophy, we accommodated supporters in the restaurant who had travelled from all parts of the world watch their team play.
“With the signing of Pakistan international Shoaib Malik for the Birmingham Bears in the expanded T20 tournament this year, and an Ashes Test Match confirmed in 2015, we saw this as a great opportunity to further develop the Al Faisals brand and we’re looking forward to working with the Club.”
As part of the activation, Al Faisals will promote the new Friday night T20 experience through its restaurant as well as the recreational cricket league that it manages. It will also receive match day hospitality, player appearances and will also bring its promotional bus to Edgbaston, on selected T20 matches, to transport hungry fans to the restaurant in the Balti Triangle after play.
Gareth Roberts, Commercial Director of Warwickshire CCC, said: “Not only does Al Faisals provide a superb dining experience that we hope our Members and supporters can sample, but the partnership and player appearance programme helps the Club build even greater links with our local community.
“We’re very excited about the new partnership and understand that Al Faisals team of chefs are looking at a special Kashmiri dish in honour of the Club that we may see at Edgbaston in the future.”
