Warwickshire 2nd XI v Durham 2nd XI SE Championship

 

Day 3

Warwickshire enjoyed batting on the third and final day in warm sunshine. Jonathan Trott 138* from 193 balls and Jim Troughton 123 from154 deliveries added 222 for the fourth wicket before Warwickshire closed the day on 329-4 and the match was drawn.

Warwickshire took thirteen points and moved to the top of the Northern Division of the 2nd XI Championship, while Durham took twelve points.

Day 2

Durham batted throughout most of the second day, with Graham Clark 79, Paul  Coughlin 63 and Stuart Poynter 60, making half centuries before the declaration on 348-9 with a first innings lead of 48.

For Warwickshire, Paul Best took four wickets and Richard Jones two while Recordo Gordon, Ollie Hannon-Dalby and Jonathan Webb took one each.

In their second innings, Warwickshire lost Tom Lewis 19 and Freddie Coleman 4, before the close with Jonathan  Trott 13* and  Jonathan Webb 6* they will resume on 45-2 still trailing Durham by three runs.

Day 1

Warwickshire won the toss and batted at Coventry and North Warwicks C.C. in their latest Second Eleven Championship match against Durham and made 300-7 declared from 93 overs.

Jonathan Trott scored 43 from 93 balls, Jim Troughton 62 from 133 balls. Paul Best 59* off 133 balls and Aaron Thomason 38* from 38 balls.

There was sufficient time for nine overs before the close in which time Richard Jones removed Hickey lbw for four and Ben Stokes to a Jonathan Webb catch for five as Durham closed the day on 19-2.
