Yorkshire 2nd XI v Warwickshire 2nd XI, SE Championship

Day 1

Warwickshire won the toss and put the home side into bat on what looked to be a helpful wicket, but some resolute batting from the Yorkshire top order helped then reach lunch on 182-2 with Andrew Hodd unbeaten on fifty eight.

He went without addition after lunch and Warwickshire made inroads into the Yorkshire batting before an eighth wicket partnership of fifty one between Hodgson and Gibson helped them reach a final total of 301 from 77.2 overs while for Warwickshire, Thomason and Trott each took three wickets .

In reply Warwickshire had twenty four overs available before the close and had reached 81-1 by stumps with Laurie Evans unbeaten on fifty and Jonathan Trott twelve with Freddie Coleman 17, the only batsman to lose his wicket in the session.

Day 2 and 3

Both of the final two days’ play were washed out and the match drawn with both sides taking 9 points each.
