Have you got the ‘Need for Speed’

Are you an up and coming pace ace that’s dreamed of showcasing your fast bowling skills on the biggest stage?

Well Warwickshire County Cricket Club is giving talented bowlers, aged 16-24, the chance to take part in a range of fast bowling challenges, including being measured by a speed gun, in front of the Club’s Bowling Coach Alan Richardson.

Fast bowlers aged 16-24 across the county can register on for their chance to take part in the Need for Speed, with places being allocated on a first-come-first-served basis for the two trial evenings on Thursday 5 and 12 June at the Edgbaston Indoor Centre.

Martyn Dobson, Community Development Manager at Warwickshire CCC, said: “There’s many talented young cricketers taking part in competitions across the county, and this will be the first open trial that we’ve staged for several years to identify the raw talent that we might not see in our current programmes with schools and clubs.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with and show off your skills to some of the best cricket coaches in the business and who knows, we may end up discovering the next leader of the Bears bowling attack.”

Those who make it through the two Need for Speed trial sessions will be invited back to Edgbaston to take part in a specialist coaching session in the Edgbaston Indoor Centre using the Warwickshire professional squad’s new state-of-the-art Quintic camera analysis system.

To register for either of the two trial sessions, simply complete the form below and a representative from Warwickshire CCC will be in touch.
