Bears take to the field for England in Women’s T20 Final

The Final may have ended in disappointment, but it was an incredibly proud day for Warwickshire yesterday as two members of the women’s team – Becky Grundy and Amy Jones – took to the field for England against Australia in the ICC Women’s World T20.

Spin bowler Becky (23) made her debut for England in the first match of the ICC Women’s World T20, but went on to play all six games, finishing second in England’s bowling averages with six tournament wickets at an average of 17.50 and an economy rate of just 4.37.

Amy featured in England’s group match against Sri Lanka as well as the Semi-Final v South Africa and yesterday’s Final against Sri Lanka. She has now won eight IT20 caps as well and two ODI caps for England.

Both Becky and Amy will now head back home to begin preparation for the new domestic season with the Warwickshire team’s first Division 1 match of the ECB Women's County Championship coming away at Surrey on 4th May.
