Technogym powers players’ fitness at Warwickshire County Cricket Club
Technogym, the leading global Wellness solutions provider, has been appointed as Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s Official Gym Equipment Partner.
A 105-square metre gym facility at the Club’s Edgbaston Stadium is now fitted with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment allowing the Warwickshire Coaching Team to conduct extensive training sessions – necessary to help players endure the rigours of a cricket season – on-site.
Chris Armstrong, Strength & Conditioning Coach at Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said, “Technogym’s equipment is renowned for innovation, quality and effectiveness, as proven by its regular partnerships with sporting bodies and events such as the Olympic Games and the Football Association, as well as top athletes around the world.
“We’re proud to partner with a market leader in this field and to provide our players with the best equipment possible on-site at Edgbaston. Feedback so far has been excellent and we look forward to continuously fine-tuning our players’ fitness to be at the top of our game every season.”
The Technogym equipment installed at Edgbaston allows for a wide variety of exercises, uses and loads, and was selected for its flexibility in meeting the needs of all members of the squad. The equipment at the facility includes:
- Group Cycle for dynamic group cardio sessions
- Multipower for assisted lower and upper limb exercises
- The Dual Adjustable Pulley (DAP) machine for explosive movements to train upper body power and strength
- Leg Extension MED and Leg Press MED for rehabilitation exercises
- A range of Olympic bars, weight plates and dumbbells for fundamental strength training
In addition to being used throughout the day by Warwickshire’s professional squad, the facility at Edgbaston is used regularly for strength and conditioning work by the Club’s Academy and Emerging Players programme, as well as its age-group teams.
