Last chance to enter Warwickshire Taverners Trophy and compete for match at Edgbaston
Local cricketers have only a few days left to register for a chance to play at the world renowned Edgbaston Stadium by entering a team in the West Midlands premier corporate cricket tournament, the Warwickshire Taverns Trophy.
Cricket teams from businesses in the professional and financial services sector contest the group stages of the Warwickshire Taverners Trophy between April and June, with the two finalists playing in the final at Edgbaston.
Trevor Law, Organiser of the Warwickshire Taverners Trophy and Director of Merito Financial Services Limited, said: “The Warwickshire Taverners Trophy is the leading corporate competition in the region and we have two very competitive leagues as well as a social league this year. Each team will play a minimum of four games in a 16 eight-ball overs per innings format.
“The chance to play at Edgbaston has seen the competition expand in the last two years and we hope to secure even more teams this year and build on the £2,000 that we raised for the Lords Taverners charity in 2013.”
Last year’s Warwickshire Taverners Trophy was won by The Phoenix Group, who defeated Savills in the final.
Teams have until Friday 28th March to enter and please email Annemarie Byrne of Merito Financial Services Limited on email@example.com for further details.
