Warwickshire expands partnership with Octopus Investments for new t20 programme
Warwickshire County Cricket Club has expanded its commercial partnership with Octopus Investments to be the Official Partner for the Birmingham Bears T20 team for the next three years.
Warwickshire has adopted the Birmingham Bears team name for the new NatWest t20 Blast competition. The package with Octopus Investments includes increased promotional opportunities at the Bears’ seven home games at Edgbaston Stadium, hospitality, and branding on the back of the T20 playing shirt.
Gareth Roberts, Commercial Director of Warwickshire CCC, said: “Working with Octopus Investments is a great boost to the Club as we build towards the launch of the NatWest t20 Blast and our first game against Yorkshire Vikings on Friday 23rd May.
“The new competition is a great opportunity for the Club to engage with new audiences and grow attendances in domestic cricket, with five of the seven home fixtures scheduled on Friday nights. We’re delighted that Octopus Investments are keen to be part of our plans and supporting the Club in this exciting new tournament.”
Founded in 2000, Octopus Investments currently manages over £3 billion assets on behalf of 50,000 customers, and works closely with more than 3,000 financial advisers and wealth managers across the UK.
Nigel Spencer, Marketing Director at Octopus Investments, said: “We enjoyed a great first year working in partnership with Warwickshire CCC in 2013. Twenty20 is a lively and innovative approach to cricket and so it’s exciting to be supporting the sport for a second year running. With the domestic twenty20 programme expanding and games now taking place during the peak Friday night slot, it’s a great opportunity for us to engage with an even bigger audience.
"We’re looking forward to returning and hopefully roaring the Bears on to Finals Day in 2014.”
