Warwickshire Skipper to take batting master class for juniors

 


Warwickshire Captain Jim Troughton is inviting budding cricketers to join him at 6.30pm on Monday 27
th January for a batting master class at the Edgbaston Indoor Centre.

Jim, who captained Warwickshire to the LV= County Championship in 2012 and started played for the Bears junior teams aged 10, will take youngsters through a range of batting skills, including how to pace an innings, power hitting and shot selection against different bowlers, before ending the master class with a question and answer session.

Kelly Evenson, Cricket Development Manager at the Warwickshire Cricket Board, said: “Jim is a fantastic batsman and captain who has been playing First Class Cricket for 13 years, so this master class is a unique opportunity for young cricketers to improve their batting skills

“The class is aimed at children aged 9-14 years-old and we recommend booking in before Christmas to avoid disappointment.”
