England v Sri Lanka ODI Set for 3rd June

England’s One Day International against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston is set to take place on Tuesday 3rd June following official confirmation of all tour dates from the England & Wales Cricket Board.

The ODI against Sri Lanka will be the first Major Match of 2014 at Edgbaston and will be followed later in the summer by two matches between England and India, with an ODI on Tuesday 2nd September and a t20 International on Sunday 7th September.

Colin Povey, Chief Executive at Edgbaston, said: “England and Sri Lanka matches have a special place in Edgbaston history after Kevin Pietersen famously unveiled his trademark switch hit for the first time here in 2006, by dispatching a ball from the legendary Muttiah Muralitharan into the stands.

“Sri Lanka have been one of the most consistent performers in recent limited overs competitions, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our former overseas player Kumar Sangakkara and the team back to Edgbaston for what’s sure to be another great match in Birmingham.”

Tickets for England v Sri Lanka and the two fixtures against India are set to go on sale later this month and further details can be found at
