Warwickshire 2nd XI v Scotland Lions, Friendly

 

After batting again, Warwickshire set Scotland a target of 340 to win at Edgbaston and at stumps on the final day Scotland were 120-5.

Day 3

Warwickshire decided to bat again on the final day at Edgbaston, rather than enforcing the follow-on and made 166-3 declared from thirty eight overs.

Freddie Coleman 58 completed a second half century of the match while Darren Maddy added forty nine to his first innings century.

Set a target of 340 to win from a possible fifty five overs, Scotland were 120-5 at the close after Steff Piolet took 3-24

Day 2

Rain in the morning session held play up on the second day, as Warwickshire whittled their way through the Scotland batting. Ateeq Javid 4-26 was the most successful bowler with Tom Milnes taking two wickets to dismiss Scotland for 227 trailing by 173 on first innings.

For Scotland Moneev Iqbal top scored with forty eight.

Day 1

Warwickshire’s Second Eleven won the toss at Edgbaston at the start of the 3 day match and chose to bat on one of the best days of the year.

Darren Maddy and Ateeq Javid batted throughout the opening session, with both men completing their half centuries taking the total on to 127-0 at lunch.

Withn the partnership worth, 156, Javid was first to go for 65, but Freddie Coleman replacing him made a rapid eighty three from ninety eight deliveries while Darren Maddy completed his century before finally being dismissed for 122 from 180 balls with nineteen fours and a six.

Sam Hain made fifty seven and Steff Piolet forty from twenty nine balls including five sixes as Warwickshire finally declared on 400-4 from ninety two overs.

In the remaining ten overs, Scotland moved to 33-1 with Calum McLeod dismissed by Boyd Rankin for a single as they trailed at the close of the opening day by 367 runs.
