Lady Taverners Under 13 and 15 Girls
The Edgbaston Indoor School recently witnessed three excellent days of girl's cricket as schools from across the county took part in Lady Taverners Finals Day.
The rapid growth of girls cricket saw a third date added to the schedule with each seeing the schools play a series of indoor 8-a-side games for the right to be named County Champions and a chanceto represent Warwickshire in the regional finals of the Lady Taverners event.
The first days competition was for Under 13 girls and after a hard fought days cricket it was Arthur Terry School from Sutton Coldfield who won an excellent final on the last ball of the game against Rugby High School. It was in fact the first time Arthur Terry had entered the competition.
In the following week the Under 15s Finals was lucky enough to have a member of Arthur Terry alumni on hand to present the trophy in Amy Jones, who represents Warwickshire and recently travelled to India with England for the Women's World Cup. The final of the Under 15s saw Tudor grange overcome Stratford Girls Grammar in another excellent days cricket.
Both Arthur Terry in the U13s and Tudor Grange in the U15s move forward to represent the county in the regional finals at Trent Bridge towards the end of April
