Moseley CC win Warwickshire Indoor Championship and progress to Midlands Finals

Moseley Cricket Club will represent Warwickshire in the ECB Midlands Club Championship next weekend, knowing they are just two games away from an Indoor final at Lords.

After defeating defeating 2012 champions, Walmley CC, Local Leagues CC, Knowle & Dorridge and Olton & West Warwicks in the competition's early stages, Moseley beat Bedworth in the all-Warwickshire final yesterday and saw off Worcestershire's Champions Ashton-Under-Hill in the play-off yesterday.

In the 12 overs-a-side play off, Moseley made an impressive 156-5, with major contributions from the Nandra brothers, Patel and and 41* from Shoaib. Ashton made a very spirited start with J Cooper retiring on 25 not out, but the innings collapsed under the pressure of Awan's bowling, with the innings finishing on 74 all out.

Warwickshire Cricket Board would like to extend Moseley CC best wishes and good luck for the Midlands' competition, which will be played at Edgbaston Cricket Centre.

Thank you to Colin McKenzie for scoring and overseeing the competition and to all the appointed umpires.
