Cricket's County Champions Strike Gym Partnership with David Lloyd
Warwickshire County Cricket Club has just signed a new one-year extension with the David Lloyd Club in Cranmore, Solihull, to be the Official 2013 Gym & Health Partner of the LV= County Champions.
Warwickshire, who won the LV= County Championship for the seventh time in the Club’s history in 2012, will utilise the world class sporting facilities at David Lloyd Cranmore as part of their conditioning programmes throughout the year.
Chris Armstrong, Fitness & Conditioning Coach at Warwickshire CCC, said: “We’ve been working with David Lloyd Cranmore for several years and recognise it as the leading gym and health club in Birmingham for high performance athletes.
“The demands of today’s cricket calendar make it essential for all squad members to be in peak physical condition, and by training at David Lloyd not only do we have the most advanced gym equipment, but the opportunity to vary the training techniques by utilising the gym, squash courts, swimming pool and other facilities.”
As part of the activation programme, David Lloyd Cranmore has a ticket and hospitality agreement to utilise Edgbaston Stadium’s new £32 million facilities on match days, as well as working with the Warwickshire squad to run two coaching sessions during the year.
Ellie Stott, Membership Relations Manager at David Lloyd Cranmore, said: “Being the official gym and health club partner of cricket’s County Champions is a great honour and everyone at David Lloyd Cranmore is delighted to be working with Warwickshire again.
“The players set themselves very high standards of fitness and have been a pleasure to work with. We’re looking forward to continuing this long and fruitful partnership and wish the Bears a successful 2013 season.”
