Champions' Suits Meet Royal Approval Thanks to Burton

Warwickshire’s cricketers haven’t just been topping the tables in the LV County Championship, but in the fashion stakes as well after Burton supported the team with suits for their recent visit to meet HRH the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace.

Members of the Bears squad, coaching team and staff will all be dressed like Champions at official functions over the next few months after each undergoing a fitting session at Burton’s New Street Store for their Tailored Fit Navy Suits.

Jim Troughton, Club Captain of Warwickshire CCC, said: “The opportunity to meet HRH The Duke of Edinburgh doesn’t come along too often, so we were all keen to ensure that we looked at our very best and were comfortable for the occasion.

“We’re all really pleased with what Burton has done for us. The suits are smart, comfortable and navy to reflect our Club colours.

“It’s great that we’ve received so many official invitations to celebrate our LV County Championship triumph and thanks to Burton we know that we’ll always look the part.”

Following a Civic Reception with the Lord Mayor of Birmingham at Birmingham City Council House and a lap of honour Villa Park, the Bears trip to Buckingham Palace was their first official function in their new suits since claiming the LV County Championship title against Worcestershire in early September.

Pete Dhutty, Deputy Manager of Burton New Street, said: “Warwickshire’s ability to bounce back from last season to claim the LV County Championship is one of the great stories of this fantastic sporting year.

“Each member of the squad and coaching team came in for an individual suit fitting, and they look great in the resulting pictures during the visit to Buckingham Palace.

“Everyone at Burton, New Street, is delighted that we’ve been able to associate ourselves with such a great Club and wish them the very best in their defence of the County Championship in 2013.”
