Warwickshire 2nd XI were 62-4 at the close of the opening day in reply to Yorkshire's 264 all out

Yorkshire won the toss and batted at Stamford Bridge in the latest 2nd XI Championship match and with McGrath 83 and Leeming 53 leading the way were 216-4 before being finally dismissed for 264 in 78.2 overs.

Ateeq Javid 3-45 was the most successful bowler with two wickets apiece for Miller and trialist Gleeson.

In reply by the close Warwickshire were 62-4 from twenty three overs with Laurie Evans unbeaten on forty two.
